Making Paper Flowers For Mother’s Day – Part 1

Mother’s Day and flowers go hand and hand like peanut butter and jelly! Instead of spending a fortune on a beautiful fresh bouquet or arrangement of flowers for the special women in your life why not try making paper flowers for Mother’s Day.

Making paper flowers is easy, affordable and the recipients will treasure the flowers because they were made with love by you! Anyone can run to the floral shop and grab a flower arrangement or a corsage of course if you have a busy life than you may not have any other choice unless you start early then you will have plenty of time to make a nice paper flower for your mother, grandmother, mother in law, sister, wife – yes men can and do make paper flowers.

You can also make a simple flower (minus the stem) to use as a decoration for another gift if you would prefer to keep your paper flower making to a minimum due to a heavy work load or busy life. Let us look at a few gift ideas that you can make and a quick and simple flower to use as a decoration for:

• A single large petal flower attached to a nice box of candy with a colorful ribbon is a nice idea.

• A photo frame with a new picture of the family or the kids with small flowers in each of the top corners is also nice.

• One of my favorite gift ideas is a fabric bag with a flower or two attached to the handles on the side so that when the bag is picked up the flowers are not smashed. Almost everyone carries a bag or has a bag for a craft project of some kind or even a gardening bag. The paper flowers really add a nice touch to the bag. By nature women are gentle with things so a flower should be safe on a bag!

• Bag full of flowers, if you are going to go all out and make a special flowery gift then how about you consider combining the fabric bag with a bunch of colorful flowers. It is also nice to provide a vase for the flowers to be placed in once the bag is in use for other things.

• A scented sachet bag with a small flower decorating the opening to the bag is a nice gift idea. Instead of using just a piece of ribbon or lace to close the bag add a tiny flower too and be sure to add some type of scent to the flower as well.

No one knows the women in your life better than you do, select one of their favorite items whether it is a box of truffles, a bag, a knickknack of an animal, or a new family photo or a photo of just the two of you and find a way to add a handmade flower with love. Making paper flowers is not hard it is very enjoyable and rewarding especially when you see the look of love and appreciation on the face of the recipient.
