Flowers For Mothers Day
Mother’s Day is celebrated worldwide, whether it’s celebrated on the 8th of March or the second Sunday in May. It’s that special day of the year when we celebrate our living mothers, remember our mothers that passed away or we are celebrated by our darling children. And since it’s a spring, rejuvenating holiday, what better way to celebrate it by giving or receiving flowers for Mother’s Day?
Offering flowers for Mother’s Day is a century old tradition, since this holiday was established in 1908 in the United States, but old does not mean old-fashioned. Have you given a thought on what flowers for Mother’s Day you should choose this year, so that you’ll definitely bring a smile on your mom’s face, or are you just betting that any nice Mother’s Day bouquet should do?
Of course, as a mother, any gift from your children will be the best, but I, for a change, love to carefully offer flowers for Mother’s Day, according to their meaning and the meaning of their color. Carnations, for instance, have a special meaning on Mother’s Day, since the founder of this holiday, Anna Jarvis, instituted this tradition.
Some might argue that the best flowers for Mother’s Day are those that your mom loves the most or those that look most astounding. However, one should do a little research on an online flower guide, in order to make the right choice for a Mother’s Day flower arrangement or bouquet, to avoid dreadful situations such as offering your mom gladiolus flowers, which are mostly used for funerals.
Also, you might find some surprising suggestions of flowers for Mother’s Day, such as offering yellow flowers, which are often regarded erroneously as flowers of hatred and jealousy. In fact, alongside purple flowers, they can look really fresh and astonishing.
So, choose wisely and have a joyous Mother’s Day this year!
