Celebrating Mother’s Day With Flowers

Mother’s day is primarily celebrated by giving flowers and greetings to our mothers. The day is a bit too special than any other similar events celebrated in our times. And there is also a special reason why the day is primarily celebrated with flowers rather than other forms of presents. Personal gifts are also presented on mother’s day but majority of them limit the celebration with flowers. Nevertheless, the choice is entirely personal and the nature of celebration is entirely based on personal preferences.

The theorem goes something like this – One can never chose a gift that equals the love and care bestowed by a mother on her child. Therefore, gifting material objects seems to belittle the glorious concept of Mother’s day. It is a day meant for remembering and acknowledging the great love of a mother that cannot be replaced by anything else created by God. And flowers are the best way to express our humble gratitude and thankfulness to our beloved mothers.

You may now think that gifting flowers is quite easy when compared to other gifts. It is true that you need to think a lot and compare a lot before buying some material gift for someone. And when it comes to flowers, you just need to pick the bunch that looks most attractive in a group. It is true, flowers can be chosen randomly but did you know that every flower has its own importance with regards to special events and days?

In the olden days, people believed that certain flowers brought luck and good fortune. For instance, if we happen to see certain flowers in an unexpected circumstance, it is considered as a positive sign or omen. Our ancestors have assigned specific meanings and feelings to each and every type of flower found in this nature. Since science and technology were not advanced in those days, people satisfied themselves by analyzing and studying the wonders of nature.

Thus, each flower is considered as a symbol of certain concepts. And we follow those believes even today so as to enjoy the positive effects of such traditions. Even today in many continents people grow flowering plants in their gardens because they consider certain flowers as holy and sacred. They respect and worship plants which are considered as a symbol of nature and God.

Gifting flowers is a conventional way to celebrate mother’s day. You can alter the convention and try adding some personal attributes to your gift of flowers. One great way to make your mom feel truly special is to gift her with flowers nurtured and picked by your own hands. If you have a small flower garden in your backyard, then the option is just too feasible. By this way you can also avoid spending hundreds of dollars on buying flowers.
